We support the Japanese American community here in Denver by serving as a resource center for the preservation of our local heritage.

JARCC Library Resource Center

The Japanese American Resource Center of CO (JARCC) Archival Collection will be available online, as well as in-person at the JARCC office, and is a work in-progress lead by Librarian, Marie von Haas.

We aim to provide the community with the best resources possible to learn about the history of Japanese-Americans and Japanese immigrants in Colorado and beyond.

Baseball Project

An ongoing project to generate a historical timeline and documentation of Japanese-American baseball & softball in Colorado.

Japanese American History in Denver & Colorado

The focus of the Colorado Agriculture Mapping Project, which is a continuing work in progress, is to gather information on the families who were farming in the early years in Colorado. We met with some of the communities close to Denver to collect the names. We have a big map of Colorado with dots representing the farmers who were farming from the early 1900s. We have a book with a list of “Heads of Household, where they farmed and a little bit of information.

Genealogy Project

In 2016 JARCC commenced a Genealogy Project which provided community members with the opportunity to learn about how to track their family lineage during a visit to the National Archives in Colorado. This project will continue throughout the coming year.

Please check back for upcoming workshops.
